The Las Piñas City Council discussed in its regular session last Monday, Feb. 10 a draft ordinance on dengue prevention and the proposed general tax amnesty.
Las Piñas City Vice Mayor April Aguilar said a draft ordinance on dengue prevention and control was introduced seeking to strengthen the city’s strategies against dengue.
Aguilar said the proposed ordinance includes the creation of a City Dengue Prevention and Control Committee and the imposition of penalties for non-compliance with prevention guidelines.
She said the council also deliberated on a proposed general amnesty on surcharges, penalties, and interest for delinquent transfer taxes until Dec. 31, 2025 that aims to provide tax relief to property owners with outstanding obligations.
The vice mayor added the Council also addressed requests for waivers of penalties and interest on business and transfer taxes which were referred to the appropriate committees for further evaluation.
Aguilar said the Joint Committees on Appropriations, Ways and Means, and Laws, Rules, and Privileges endorsed the granting of gratuity pay to Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers of the city government for fiscal year 2024, pursuant to Administrative Order No. 28 of last year.
