Father arrested for raping his son's girlfriend in Manila

A 39-year-old man was arrested after being accused of assaulting a 14-year-old high school student in Parola, Binondo, Manila.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as "Dencio," a resident of the area.

According to MPD Director Brigadier Gen. Thomas Arnold Ibay, the suspect was apprehended after a swift follow-up operation led by MPD Delpan Police Station 12.

The minor victim shared that she had spent the night at her boyfriend’s house who is the suspect’s son.

At around 2 a.m., she woke up to find the father of her boyfriend assaulting her. She managed to escape and ran home to her parents to report the incident.

Her parents immediately brought her to the police station to file a complaint.

The MPD quickly mobilized a follow-up operation which led to the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect is currently in police custody, facing charges under Republic Act 8353, the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
