Ex-BCDA chief Vince Dizon to replace Bautista as new DOTr secretary—Palace

President Marcos has appointed former Bases Conversion and Development Authority president Vivencio "Vince" Bringas Dizon as the new secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin disclosed on Thursday, Feb. 13, that Dizon will be replacing outgoing Transportation chief Jaime Bautista, who has resigned due to health reasons.

"Vivencio 'Vince' Bringas Dizon is going to be the next Secretary of the Department of Transportation, effective February 21, 2025," Bersamin said in a statement.

He said the transition from Bautista to Dizon has been authorized by the President to start.

"He is already authorized by the Office of the President to start the transition at the DOTr in coordination with the team of Secretary Jaime Bautista, who has resigned due to health reasons," Bersamin said.

Dizon has been in government service for the last 26 years. He has served as the Presidential Adviser on Flagship Programs and Projects. He was also the deputy chief implementer of the National Action Plan Against Covid-19.

He was also an Assistant Professor of Economics at De La Salle University.

He also received one of the highest civilian honors - the Order of Lakandula with the rank of Bayani for his important contributions to the Build Build Build program and the country’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He is presently the Chief Regulatory Officer of Prime Infrastructure.
