Alcantara and Isaro only needed 75 minutes in shocking the Australian fourth-seeded pair of Blake Bayldon and Matthew Romios, 6-4, 6-3, to stay in the hunt for the men’s doubles trophy in this Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour event.

With the win, the Southeast Asian pair arranged a meeting with Ivan Liutarevich and France’s Luca Sanchez, who survived a close opening set before edging India’s Anidrudh Chandrasekar and Chinese Taipei’s Ray Ho, 7-6 (4), 6-3.

Alcantara, ranked No. 242 in the ATP doubles, has been seeking his breakthrough title in the ATP Challenger scene, although he has won 25 doubles crowns in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures.

He and Isaro are coming off a quarterfinals finish in Chennai, India last week.
