CEBU CITY – Police nabbed four men allegedly involved in a series of robbery and carnapping incidents here on Wednesday night, Feb. 12.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Special Operation Team arrested Jamie Babao Paraiso, 20; Edcel Narvasa Caballero, 39; Jake Babao Paraiso, 21, and James Bontilao Sabal, 25.
They were arrested in Barangay Toong, a mountain barangay here where most of the suspects reside. Seized from them were three .45 caliber pistols and a pack of suspected shabu.
Police Capt. Joel Deiparine, chief of the CIDG-RSOT, said they received information that Jamie was involved in gun-running activities.
Lawmen transacted with Jamie who agreed to sell a firearm to a poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation. Jamie and brother Jake and Caballero were arrested during the entrapment operation. Sabal escaped but was arrested in a follow-up operation.
Police said the suspects were allegedly involved in several robberies in Barangays Buhisan and Tisa.
Jamie allegedly admitted his involvement in gun-running where he can sell a firearm for P15,000. Caballero, a construction worker, admitted that due to poverty, he was forced to join Jamie in several robberies.
Police advised their victims to come forward to identify them. The suspects face charges for illegal possession of firearms, possession of illegal drugs, and violation of the election gun ban.
