Mayor Belmonte leads price monitoring at QC market

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, together with Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque, led a monitoring of prices of basic commodities, particularly rice, that are being sold at the Commonwealth market on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

The joint market inspection aims to safeguard consumer welfare, ensure fair prices, promote transparent business practices, and maintain a stable market environment.

The officials inspected the prices of rice, vegetables, and poultry products to make sure that they are compliant with the Maximum Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).

During the inspection trip, Belmonte also discussed with the market vendors their concerns.
