Taguig 2nd district Rep. Pammy Mendoza said she and other House members already discussed bringing up to the House Good Government and Public Accountability Committee the DepEd's unsettled financial transactions upon the proposal of Zambales 1st district Rep. Jay Khonghun.
Meanwhile, 1-Rider Party-list Rep. Rodge Rodriguez distanced himself from pushing the House committee to investigate DepEd's unsettled financial transactions.
As part of the prosecution team in the impeachment case, Gutierrez said he would exercise restraint in making such pronouncements, but nonetheless said, "We will anticipate eagerly any developments there."
DepEd's unsettled financial transactions form part of the articles of impeachment cited by House lawmakers against the Vice President.
According to them, Duterte allegedly "betrayed the public trust and committed graft and corruption In her misuse and malversation of confidential funds appropriated to the Office of the Vice President and DepEd".
"Sa amin kasi (For our part), we already have filed a complaint. The House has already filed a complaint and we are now anticipating the convening of the impeachment court. That would now be the proper venue for us to threshold, thresh out these issues," he said.
