BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Albee Benitez said the city government is conducting a relentless crackdown against erring employees.

“It’s never-ending, but we will be relentless,” Benitez said. Minor violations can grow into significant problems if ignored, he said.
The city government is investigating a regular employee of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for allegedly appropriating gasoline for agency vehicles for personal use.
A show-cause order has been issued to the employee and the City Legal Office is awaiting the employee’s counter-affidavit.
Two employees from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office and the City Treasurer’s Office were accused of accepting payments from businessmen without processing their permits last December.
“What seems like a small issue can quickly become a much larger one,” Benitez said. He warned those who continue to break the rules: “Don’t wait to be caught.”
