The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will hold a three-day workshop in Makati to enhance labor policies and strengthen digital job platforms across ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member states.
The seminar workshop, which will be held from Feb. 12 to 14, was organized in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) under the RECOTwin project and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The event, according to the DOLE, is also backed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the ASEAN Secretariat.
Discussions on Feb. 12 and 13 will focus on improving labor market information systems to align employment and skills policies with the region’s transition to a green and digital economy.
Delegates will assess policy priorities, explore regional cooperation, and address capacity gaps using insights from the Regional Mapping Report on Labor Market Information for Skills and Employment Policies in ASEAN.
The ILO is set to present occupational skill projections, identifying industries expected to expand or decline between 2030 and 2035.
On Feb. 14, discussions will shift to refining regulations for digital labor market intermediaries to promote transparency, efficiency, and fairness in online recruitment and employment placement.
