First day of campaign period for nat'l bets in Caraga peaceful
CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The first day of the campaign period for senatorial and party-list candidates on Feb. 11 in the Caraga region was generally peaceful, the Police Regional Office-13 said.

“No untoward incidents or unlawful campaign violations were reported in the five provinces and six cities in Northeastern Mindanao,” PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.
“So far, so good, wala tayong na-experience na mga pangyayari (There were no untoward incidents),” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano said.
“I continue to appeal the candidates to strictly follow the set of rules during the campaign season given by the Commission on Election so that we can maintain peaceful environment in the Caraga region until the day of election this coming May 12, 2025,” added Abrahano.
More than 6,000 police personnel in the region have been mobilized to secure the elections in the region. “Police visibility will help deter any form of criminality before, during and after elections,” Ometer added.
Caraga is composed of the provinces of Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, and Agusan del Sur, and the cities of Surigao, Tandag, Bislig, Bayugan, Cabadbaran, and Butuan.
