The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is preparing for job fairs across the country to sustain the government recent gain of drop in unemployment rate.
In a statement, DOLE attributed the December 2024 Labor Force survey which showed 3.1 percent decline in unemployment rate to its job-creation efforts particularly its collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) that successfully connected job seekers with employers nationwide.
"DOLE is set to organize a series of job fairs in the first quarter of 2025 to expand access to employment opportunities and support the smooth integration of job seekers into the workforce," the statement read.
"These events will offer job seekers direct access to a broad range of employers, reinforcing DOLE’s commitment to addressing labor market needs and contributing to the country’s economic stability," it added.
DOLE aims to maintain the unemployment rate within the 4-5 percent target range outlined in the Philippine Development Plan and encourages job seekers to take advantage of PESO services and participate in the upcoming job fairs.
