The Anyang JKJ Red Boosters got back on track and held off the Busan KCC Egis, 76-67, to continue their rise in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) Monday, Feb. 10.

Seeing their five-game winning streak end after an 85-81 loss to the Seoul SK Knights, the Red Boosters sprung back to life and took command in the second half, hiking the lead to 52-40 in the third quarter which they preserved until the final buzzer.
Deonte Burton impressed with a double-double effort of 27 points and 12 rebounds along with four assists and two steals for Anyang while Park Jji-Hoon and Javi Gomez de Liano chipped in 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Busan banked on Cady Lalanne, who single-handedly lifted the Egis as he put up a monstrous 24-point and 20-rebound performance which all went down the drain.
The win improved the Red Boosters’ position in the standings at the eighth spot with a 14-24 record while the Egis absorbed their 23rd defeat against 15 wins at seventh.
It was a nip-and-tuck affair for both squads in the first half before Anyang, bannered by Burton, delivered swift attacks against the hapless Busan side.
The run was highlighted by a 16-9 spurt which was enough to keep the Egis at bay.
Meanwhile, Kevin Quiambao will try to give the Goyang Sono Skygunners (12-25) another victory when they square off with the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus (23-14) Tuesday, Feb. 11.
Quiambao steadily brought out his A-game after listing double-digit scoring – including a career-high 36 points last Feb. 2 – with decent numbers in assist and rebounding columns in the Skygunners’ last five games.
