Seventy couples officially tied the knot ahead of Valentine’s Day during the "Kasalang Bayan 2025" in Navotas City on Monday, Feb. 10.


Mayor John Rey Tiangco led the wedding ceremony for the 70 couples on Monday, Feb. 10.
According to the city’s Public Information Office, among those who exchanged vows were Augusto Samson Jr., 60, and Nelma Lanza, 50, who have been together for 20 years.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco officiated the ceremony, congratulating the newlyweds and emphasizing the importance of marriage in strengthening families and communities.
“Marriage is the foundation of a strong family and a thriving community. We join you in prayer that you fulfill your vow of ‘till death do us part,’ not only for yourselves but, more importantly, for your children,” he said.
Tiangco also encouraged the couples to build their homes on love and strong values, highlighting that raising responsible children contributes to a brighter future for Navotas.
To support the newlyweds as they begin their journey together, the city government provided P5,000 in financial assistance to each couple.
The Kasalang Bayan reflects the city's commitment in strengthening families and improving the well-being of its residents by giving couples a meaningful and memorable way to formalize their union.
