200 firetrucks join ABP partylist motorcade in Manila
A kick-off motorcade rally was held in Manila on Tuesday, Feb. 11, to push for legislation that provides benefits for all firefighters, and fire and rescue volunteers.
The event, organized by Ang Bumbero ng Pilipinas (ABP) partylist, began in front of the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, Manila.
Over 200 vehicles from fire and rescue volunteers participated, along with approximately 3,000 supporters from various organizations showing their support for ABP, which is a group representing fire and rescue volunteers from across the Philippines.
ABP said the motorcade marks the start of the campaign period for the upcoming May 2025 elections.
The ABP partylist is led by first nominee Jose Antonio "Ka Pep" Goitia, along with other nominees including Leninsky Bacud, Catleya Cher Goitia, Jose Mari Alfonso Goitia, Carl Gene Moreno Plantado, and Howie Quimzon Manga.
According to Ka Pep Goitia, they will file a resolution to support fire volunteers and rescuers who play a vital role in responding quickly to fires, disasters, and calamities in communities throughout the Philippines.

The group aims to improve the skills of every Filipino and ensure they have sufficient knowledge in responding to and preparing for any calamities that may strike the country.
The campaign period for those running for national positions will last 90 days, starting on Feb. 11 and ending on May 10, as stipulated by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
According to the official Comelec list, 155 party-list groups will compete for 63 vacant seats in Congress.
