A 55-year-old woman who was jailed for stealing bags in Quezon City and Manila was served four more arrest warrants for the same crime.
Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) served the suspect with a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 173 in Manila on Feb. 7 at the Police Station 15 Custodial Facility for theft where she had been incarcerated since Dec. 18.
“Nitong January 4 ay meron na namang lumabas na warrant of arrest na galing pa ng RTC ng Maynila. ‘Yung pang-apat ay nitong February ay nai-serve din natin sa kanya (On January 4, another arrest warrant came out from the RTC of Manila, the fourth came out in February we also served it),” Lt. Col. Roldante Sarmiento, station commander of the Project 6 Police said.
Sarmiento said that the suspect operates alone and changes her identity after being caught for stealing.
“Sa pagkakaalam namin ay nag-iisa lang siya o solo na lumalakad. At ang kanyang modus kapag nahuhuli siya ay nagpapalit siya o nag-iiba ng details ng kanyang pagkatao. Halimbawa, ibang pangalan na naman gagamitin niya (As far as we know, she works alone and her modus operandi when she gets caught is that she changes her identity),” he added.
Records from the Crime Information, Reporting, and Analysis System (CIRAS) revealed that the suspect had been charged for the same violation in March 2016 and September 2018, as well as for violating R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act in August 2017.
