Criminology student, woman nabbed for bribing cops

ZAMBOANGA CITY â€“ A criminology student and a woman were arrested for allegedly bribing policemen to release a drug suspect here on Saturday, Feb. 8.

Police identified the suspects as Alkabir Jamjirul Sahi, 22, a criminology student, and Raisa Sahi Abdulla, 27.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Jul-Asmad Jamirul Sahi during a buy-bust operation.

The CDEU received a phone call from Abdulla identifying herself as the sister of Jul-Asmad.

Abdulla offered P20,000 in exchange for Jul-Asmad's release.

Raisa and Alkabir were arrested in an entrapment operation. Police recovered the P20,000 bribe money in the suspects' possession.

The suspects are detained together with Jul-Asmad at Police Station 11 for proper filing of charges.
