Cordura cascades command thrust to air force units in Western Mindanao

Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura, commanding general of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), flew to far-flung units in Western Mindanao to ensure that “FOCUS PAF”, the organization’s command thrust under his leadership, will be strictly observed by the ground troops.

Cordura was received by personnel of the Tactical Operations Group Sulu – Tawi-Tawi (TOG SULTAW) led by group commander Colonel Hermilini Calubiran at the Edwin Andrews Air Base, the PAF’s main air base in Western Mindanao, on Sunday, Feb. 9.

“During his visit, he cascaded the Command Thrust, ‘FOCUS PAF,’ emphasizing a strategic framework and vision for the Air Force's future,” PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said Monday, Feb. 10.

The FOCUS PAF is a strategic framework implemented by Cordura when he assumed the top PAF post in December last year. It focuses on building a “mission-oriented, capability-driven, and values-based” air force to ensure all the units’ efforts align with the PAF’s vision and strategic goals.

Cordura then proceeded to Elum Air Station in Barangay La Paz, Zamboanga City where he inspected key facilities vital to national defense and security.

The PAF chief also conducted field visits to Sanga-Sanga in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. 

Castillo said the field visits by Cordura to Western Mindanao “highlighted the PAF’s strategic importance in the region” as he reaffirmed his commitment to peace and security on all fronts.

She said the PAF chief also underscored his dedication to troop morale and operational excellence, recognizing both factors as “crucial for mission success.”
