The wife of the police official who was among the fatalities in the mid-air collision between a passenger plane and a military helicopter left for the United States on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Members of the Aviation Security Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP-Avsegrp) assisted the wife of Police Col. Pergentino N. Malabed when she boarded a Philippine Airline flight to Washington D.C. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The purpose of the visit, according to the authorities, is to comply with the request of the US authorities to confirm the identity of Malabed.
Malabed, chie of the PNP's Supply Management Division was among those on board the American Airlines flight that collided U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 29.
