Rosé 'APT." reaches 1 billion views on YouTube; breaks Psy's 'Gangnam Style' record

Rosé and Bruno Mars’ viral song “APT.” has set another record. 

On Jan. 31, the music video for “APT.” reached one billion views on YouTube, or in just 105 days after it was released on Oct. 18 last year. 

“‘APT.’ officially broke the internet. #ROSÉ and @BrunoMars  surpassed 1 BILLION views in no time! #ROSÉ_Bruno_APT,” YouTube Music announced on X. 

Rosé said, “I just wanted to thank you so much for watching the 'APT.' music video over one billion times on YouTube.”

This is the fastest time for a K-pop and Asian music video to reach one billion views on YouTube. 

The “APT.” music video surpassed the record set by Korean rapper Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” which reached one billion views in 159 days in December 2012 after it was released July 15, 2012. “Gangnam Style” was the first video on YouTube to reach one billion views. 

“APT.” has now set the record for the fifth fastest time for a music video to reach one billion views on YouTube. 

Adele’s “Hello” is No. 1, reaching one billion views in 87 days. 

The new “APT.” record is in addition to its Spotify achievement. 

On Jan. 30, “APT.” reached one billion streams on Spotify after its release last Oct. 18.
