Jessy Mendiola thinks 2025 will be her busiest year after her hiatus

Comebacking actress Jessy Mendiola is counting on her skills in time management to let her cope with the triple roles demanded by her showbiz career, being a mom to two-year-old Rosie and being a supportive wife to husband Luis Manzano, who is seeking the post of Batangas vice-governor in the May 2025 midterm elections.

The actress and mom announced she will do two Kapamilya shows this year. The first one, set to start soon, will pair her with her former "Budoy" co-star Gerald Anderson.

"I'm very grateful to ABS-CBN for adjusting their schedule to suit mine. They know that I really value my time with my family, especially my daughter. They promised me that they will work out a fair schedule for my needs," she added.

Jessy pondered on her life for the past five years when work took a backseat in favor of marriage and family. It will be a stark contrast to the busy pace she will pick up later in 2025.

"Nagpahinga din talaga ako eh. Five years, ako nagpahinga. Since the pandemic, I stopped. And I think, sabi na rin ni Lord na 'girl, yang buhay mo muna unahin mo.' You know, yung personal life mo muna," Jessy pointed out.

(I took a break from work. It was a good five-year break that started after the pandemic. It was God's way of telling me to take things easy and prioritize my personal life.)

"I needed that. I healed a lot. I've grown. I've grown so much," Jessy said in an interview during the opening of the Manila Diamond Studio branch in Evia Lifestyle Center in Daang-Hari Road,  Las Piñas City. 

The actress has been the face of Manila Diamond Studio since she was single. She admitted that jewelry and real estate were her go-to choices when it came to investing the hard-earned fruits of her labor in showbiz.

Pointing to the four-carat diamond studs on her ears, she revealed that it took her a decade to finally buy it. "I was just 21 when I dreamed of having this piece. I'm 32 now, so it took me a decade. I just kept on saving money."

"Simula nang nagsimula akong magtrabaho, sabi ko talaga... dream ko talagang makabili ako ng stud earrings na talagang sa akin. So, pinag-ipunan ko talaga siya.And yes, Manila Diamond Studio helped me get the best deal out of it," she added.

(Ever since I started working, I told myself to work to have these diamond stud earrings for myself, so I saved up for this.)

Speaking about her husband's foray into politics, Jessy said she supports Luis in his "one million percent candidacy."

"We are very excited and at the same time very nervous because this is a new world for us. But knowing Luis, he's very generous, and he's willing to give his heart to everyone, so I hope he will be given the chance to serve," Jessy concluded.
