“Patuloy pa rin umiiral ang northeast monsoon o hanging amihan dito sa bahagi ng northern at central Luzon kung saan ngayong araw ay magdadala pa rin ito ng maulap na kalangitan na may mga kasamang pag-ulan dito sa silangang bahagi (The northeast monsoon or 'hanging amihan' continues to prevail over parts of northern and central Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with rain showers over the eastern section today),” said PAGASA Weather Specialist Grace Castañeda.

“Ngayong araw ay magiging makulimlim din ang panahon at mataas din ang tiyansa ng mga pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog dulot ng easterlies (Today, the weather will be cloudy, with a high chance of rain, lightning, and thunderstorms due to the easterlies),” she added.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said the northeast monsoon will affect Northern and Central Luzon, while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

In the Bicol Region and Quezon, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected due to the easterlies.

The rest of the country will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the easterlies.

The “amihan” will bring cloudy skies and rains to Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

Likewise, the northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Castañeda noted that PAGASA is not monitoring any low-pressure area (LPA) inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

“Sa kasalukuyan, wala tayong mino-monitor na bagyo o LPA na maaaring makapekto dito sa ating bansa (At present, there are no storms or LPAs being monitored that could affect the country),” she added.
