City Councilor Leandro Yangot Jr., a member of the Sin-Agi Artists, said the mural is composed of three sets of images – the Baguio Cathedral with a priest and a large crowd of people, a group of men carrying a house, and young people teaching the elderly how to use modern gadgets.
Yangot said he saw a large wall in front of the Bishop House perfect for murals. He contacted Barangay Kabayanihan led by Chairman Eladio Ortenero and encouraged young artists to paint it.
“This is a work of love, I am happy if the host barangay helps us fund the work, pay the young artists if not then I will should shoulder the expenses,” said Yangot.
Sin-Agi Artists was founded by Yangot in December 2022. The group’s first project in January 2023 was a mural on Legarda Road in front of Europa Condominium.
The group has been to various barangays to paint to make Baguio a “true creative city.”
Cruz said the mural is excellent.
“I can only say one thing about the mural, excellent, because the mural depicting Christianity are very beautiful and have a history. Thank you to our talented young artists and most of all to the barangay officials who designed the sidewalk canopy around the compound, which is a great help to people who cannot get wet during the rainy season.”
