Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the workshop will be led by the Parañaque City Children with Special Needs Center on Jan. 7, 10, and 14. It is a part of the city’s efforts to strengthen its support system for families.
Olivarez explained that the training aims to provide emotional support, stress debriefing, and encouragement to parents and caregivers of children with special needs.
He added that the program offers parents a safe space to relax, share experiences, and connect with others who understand the daily challenges and sacrifices they face.
The mayor emphasized that even simple activities such as talking, listening, and allowing the mind to rest, can have a meaningful impact on the emotional and mental well-being of parents.
He said that the initiative highlights the city government’s commitment not only to children with special needs but also to the parents who tirelessly love, nurture, and advocate for them.
He added that the city remains steadfast in ensuring that no family is left behind, recognizing parents as everyday heroes whose strength and dedication deserve continued support and appreciation.
