Man hurt after being hacked by neighbor over water line dispute

Authorities are hunting a 39-year-old man who allegedly hacked and wounded his neighbor over an old grudge involving a cut water line in San Mateo, Rizal, on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said the incident occurred at Purok 2, Buntong Palay, Barangay Silangan, San Mateo, at around 4:20 p.m. It was reported to the mobile personnel of Barangay Silangan by a concerned citizen while they were patrolling the area.
During their response, authorities found the 38-year-old victim lying on the ground with hack wounds on different parts of his body. He was immediately rushed to the Quezon Memorial Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the suspect, identified as "Isagani," reportedly fled on a motorcycle in an unknown direction.
Based on the investigation of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station (San Mateo MPS), the suspect reportedly had an old grudge against the victim, who allegedly cut his water line, which may have contributed to the incident.
Authorities are conducting a dragnet operation to locate and arrest the suspect. A case of frustrated murder is also being prepared against him.
