The Police Regional Office-13 on Tuesday inspected firecracker display zones and authorized sellers in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte province.
PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano P Magistrado IV checked business permits, seller authorization, and compliance with safety regulations.
Twelve designated firecracker display and retail centers were inspected.
No firecracker-related incidents have been recorded in the region as of Dec. 30.
Magistrado also inspected Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in transport terminals, seaports, and thoroughfare checkpoints, to ensure readiness in providing assistance, maintaining peace and order, and responding to emergencies.
The PRO-13 reminded people to only use allowed and avoid prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.
Police encouraged people to watch local government unit-organized community firework displays in designated areas with strict safety measures in coordination with the PNP.
