The Philippine women's lacrosse team closed out its campaign this year with a bang after taking the silver medal in the 2025 Hong Kong International Lacrosse Sixes at HK Football Club in Happy Valley Monday, Dec. 29.
With seven participating squads in the distaff side of the three-day meet, the country’s lacrosse bets produced superb outing to barge into the finale where they showed great resolve but eventually bowed to SELL Japan, 16-5.
Before settling for silver, the FIlipina bets stamped their class and bested Japan’s JLA Sixes R&D, 18-13, in the semifinal.
It was the culmination of a big year for the crew highlighted by an 18-6 win over Chinese Taipei to capture the bronze medal in the Asia-Pacific Lacrosse Championship in Queensland Australia.
There, the Nationals booked their ticket to the 2026 World Championship in Tokyo, Japan slated July 24 to Aug. 2.
Meanwhile, JLA Sixes R&D of Japan spoiled Hong Kong’s podium bid with a 10-9 escape to snatch bronze.
In the men’s side, Germany dethroned Japan’s Fogo Grizzlies, 18-17, to rule the event, while JLA Sixes R&D topped Hong Kong, 17-3, for the bronze.
