Police arrested a man tagged as the National Capital Region’s No. 1 most wanted person in Taguig.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) nabbed the suspect identified as alias Angel Acob or Panga, during an operation in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig on Dec. 28.
The suspect was an identified member and alleged financier of the John Roll De Guzman Criminal Gang, a notorious criminal group linked to carnapping, illegal drug trafficking, and illegal gambling activities operating within the Southern Police District area, the police said.
Angel Acob was nabbed based on warrants of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Miriam Bien of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 153 on April 4 for murder (no bail recommended) and attempted murder (bail set at P120,000).
The police revealed that based on investigation, the suspect is a principal suspect in a murder on Dec. 7, 2024, along C-6 Road in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig.
Records showed that the suspect, together with three others, repeatedly shot and killed a victim.
Following the arrest, the suspect was brought to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for physical and medical examination and is under the custody of the NCRPO’s Anti-Criminality and Special Operations – Regional Intelligence Division (ACS-RID) custodial facility.
