ILLEGAL firecrackers were destroyed in Central Luzon on Monday.
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Police on Monday destroyed P500,000 worth of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices confiscated in Central Luzon.
The destruction in Camp Olivas, San Fernando City, Pampanga, was part of intensified measures to ensure public safety during the holiday season. It was conducted in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
These were confiscated during sustained police operations and inspections conducted by PRO-3 units.
“The removal and destruction of these prohibited firecrackers are preventive measures to protect lives, prevent injuries, and avoid unnecessary incidents. This initiative is fully aligned with our 3Ps – Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism. We continue to urge the public to welcome the New Year safely and responsibly, in cooperation with law enforcement and other government agencies,” PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. said.
