Man shot dead after confrontation over alleged theft in Cavite

CAVITE – A man was shot dead following a confrontation over an alleged theft in Dasmariñas City on Sunday, Dec. 28.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said a commotion broke out in Barangay Burol 1 after the suspect, identified as alias Topher, was confronted by residents over a theft incident.
Alias Topher was reportedly beaten by several residents, including the victim, identified as alias Max.
Following the altercation, alias Topher sought help from his brother, alias Ericson.
The two set off to look for alias Max. Upon locating him, alias Ericson reportedly shot alias Max, resulting in his death.
The Dasmariñas Component City Police Station (Dasmariñas CCPS) told the Manila Bulletin that alias Topher is now in their custody.
Alias Ericson, meanwhile, was able to escape the crime scene carrying the firearm used in the shooting.
Authorities have launched an operation to get the suspect.
