Woman's body found in Bacolod lot

BACOLOD CITY – The decomposing body of an unidentified woman was found in a grassy vacant lot in Purok Mars, Barangay Singcang-Airport here on Sunday, Dec. 28.

Police Capt. Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 8, said that a streetlight installer discovered the remains when he noticed a foul odor while looking for a place to relieve himself at around 1 p.m.

Cayao said the woman was wearing a dark brown shirt and black skinny jeans and estimated to be in her 40s.

He said that no other significant recoveries were found in the area, except for some empty sacks near her body, leading them to speculate that the victim might be a scavenger.

Cayao said there was no indication of a struggle in the area, but they need to subject her to an autopsy to determine the cause of death. He added that no missing individuals have been reported to the police station.

He believed that the victim might be from another place. Cayao said the victim might have been dead for more than a week.
