Senate, House sign bicam report on 2026 national budget

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance led the Upper House contingent while his counterpart, House Appropriations Committee chairman, Rep. Mika Suansing represented the House of Representatives.
The signing of the bicameral conference committee report was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) where the bicameral proceedings on House Bill No. 4058 or the proposed 2026 budget were also held.
Both chambers are now expected to ratify the budget measure on Monday, December 29 in separate plenary sessions.
After it is ratified, the 2026 GAB would then be transmitted to the President for his signature.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto earlier said he expects the President to sign the budget “in the first week of January.”
