TRB: Toll fee increase for SLEX, STAR Tollway starting Jan. 1
Starting Jan. 1, motorists will have to pay more for the toll fees when using the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR).
The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) said the toll fee increase will ensure continued operations, maintenance and improvements of both the SLEX and STAR, which are both undergoing rehabilitation and widening works.
For SLEX from Alabang to Calamba, Class 1 (light) vehicles will now be charged P126, Class 2 (buses and smaller trucks) vehicles with P253, and Class 3 vehicles (large trucks) with P379.
TRB said the new toll fees reflected a P10, P21 and P31 increase, respectively.
From Calamba, Laguna to Sto. Tomas in Batangas, the new toll fee will be P34 for light vehicles, P58 for Class 2 vehicles and P102 for Class 3 vehicles.
The new fees reflected P3, P5 and P8 increase from the current charge.
For the STAR Tollway located in Batangas, Class 1 vehicles will be charged with P60 from Sto. Tomas to Lipa City, P119 for Class 2 vehicles and P179 for Class 3 vehicles for the same section.
TRB said the new fee is P5 higher for light vehicles, P9 higher for Class 2 vehicles and P14 for Class 3.
From Lipa to Batangas, the new charge will be P53 from the current P49 for Class 1 vehicles, P106 from the current P98 for Class 2 vehicles and P159 from P147 for Class 3 vehicles.
