A FESTIVE SIGHT Expect to be bedazzled as the theme park continues its year-long 20th anniversary.
Even as Christmas wraps up, festivities move on forward at the House of Mouse. Disneyland has fondly been referred to as the happiest place on Earth since it first opened its doors to the public in the ’50s. To this day, many visit its 12 theme parks and six resorts worldwide. Closest to our vicinity is Hong Kong Disneyland, a park currently celebrating its year-long 20th anniversary. As such, festivities over the holidays are taking the extra mile, stretching over into January. Here’s a look at what you can expect when visiting the theme park this holiday season.
A winter wonderland
Much of the park finds itself transformed into a whimsical winter wonderland during the holiday season. Perhaps the best spot to visit during the holidays is the Kingdom of Arendelle at the World of Frozen portion of the park. Imagineers worked hard to bring the environment and world of the “Frozen” franchise to guests. Walking in feels as if you’ve been transported to the movies themselves. Here, you can encounter Elsa, Anna, and Sven waltzing around and greeting visitors. There are also stone trolls and citizens of Arendelle dancing around, inviting others to sing and play games with them. For rides, there’s the thrill of going full speed at Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs or taking a more peaceful journey and singing along to classic hits like “Let It Go” over at “Frozen Ever After.”
Festivities galore
When strolling in the park, be on the lookout for the daily parades throughout the day. Along Main Street, you can watch the “Friendtastic” parade twice at either 12:45 p.m. or 5 p.m. There are also live shows you can witness in front of the castle, featuring a special performance celebrating the park’s 20th anniversary for a limited run. By 6:20 p.m., watch as the lights of the Christmas tree light up and drones put up a show for guests during “A Holiday Wish-Come-True.” There are also special one-night-only performances you can catch, like the “Disney Legend Live in Concert,” with Lea Salonga set to perform on Jan. 10, 2026. She will be joined by iconic Disney princesses onstage as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Disneyland Band perform songs from their respective movies under the conducting of maestro Gerard Salonga. Finally, wrap up the night as the park ends the day with “Momentous: Party in the Night Sky,” where new special sequences can be seen as the park celebrates its 20-year run.
