Police are searching for a Catholic priest from Leyte reported missing since Tuesday, Dec. 23.
The Babatngon, Leyte Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the missing person as Fr. Edwin "Kutz" Caintoy, 55.
Police said the parish priest of San Jose de Malibago Parish in Babatngon was last seen on Tuesday morning in Tacloban City.
Caintoy – 5’6”, large-built, fair complexion, wearing a white clerical polo, black slacks, and carrying a black sling bag – of Abuyog town, Leyte, arrived in Barangay 108, Tagpuro, Tacloban City, aboard an orange motorcycle driven by a sacristan and boarded a Norbatco passenger bus.
He went down at the corner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was seen on a department store closed-circuit television camera walking towards Robinsons North Tacloban. It was the last time he was seen.
The Babatngon Municipal Police Station urged people to inform them of his whereabouts at hotline 09985986483 or to their headquarters.
The Archdiocese of Palo also said that any information about Caintoy may be relayed to its chancellor at 09282193275.
