"Marami akong gustong ipagpasalamat pero siguro for 2025, yung pagpasok ko sa Star Magic. At first nakaka-intimidate talaga yung challenge (sa buhay ko) pero buti naman nalampasan ko yun at lumalaban tayo everyday. It changed my life because I was given the avenue to do what I want to do, which is to perform. (I have a lot to be thankful for, but for 2025, it's joining Star Magic. At first, the challenge (in my life) was really intimidating, but luckily, I overcame it, and we fight every day. It changed my life because it gave me an avenue for what I want to do, which is to perform," said Jarlo, during an interview after his performance.
In October, Jarlo was introduced as one of the celebrity contestants for the ABS-CBN reality show Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF). The musician said he enjoys working with Rufa Mae Quinto, Vhong Navarro, and Jhong Hilario.
"Napakabait niyang tao (Rufa Mae). Yung pagpapatawa niya galing talaga sa puso niya. On and off the set kinukwento niya yung nangyari sa kanya sa buhay at nakaka-inspire kung paano siya lumalaban. (She (Rufa Mae) is such a kind person. Her humor really comes from her heart. On and off the set, she talks about what happened to her in life and it's inspiring how she fights back.)"
"Andyan din sila Kuya Vhong and Kuya Jhong. Bago lang ako sa industry so sila po yung nag-papalakas ng loob sa akin na huwag kang kabahan at huwag kang matakot. Sinabi nila na nandyan sila para tumulong dahil pamilya kami. Malaking rason sila kaya naging comfy ako sa trabaho. (Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario were also there. I was new to the industry, so they were the ones who encouraged me not to be nervous or afraid. They said they were there to help because we were family. They were a big reason why I was comfortable at work)," he said.
Before YFSF, Jarlo was introduced by Colet of BINI, who enthusiastically recommended a song by Jarlo to their fans, sharing her appreciation for its sound and message. Her endorsement quickly sparked excitement among followers, further highlighting Jarlo's influence in the music scene.
“I’m feeling very excited, and honestly, I feel at home… Thank you so much, Star Magic and ABS-CBN," Jarlo said then.
Jarlo has shared his profound insights gained since stepping into the vibrant world of the entertainment industry.
"Napakahirap pala maging artista. Growing up akala ko simple lang umarte, simple lang mag host. Sobrang hirap pala. Dapat malakas ang control mo sa sarili mo. When I say that, dapat kaya mong makitungo sa lahat. Sincere ka pala dapat. I am surrounded by big stars pero chill lang sila. (It's so hard to be an artist. Growing up, I thought acting and hosting were easy. It's so hard. You have to have strong self-control. When I say that, you have to be able to deal with everyone. You have to be sincere. Big stars surround me, but they are just chill.)"
Given the chance, Jarlo mentioned he would like to give one of his songs to Gary Valenciano.
"Parang hindi siya basta basta tumatanggap ng project. Kung if ever mapili niya yung song na gagawin ko, that means there's something about the song na nakaka-affect sa kanya. I remember may ginagaya akong icon then kinausap niya ako paano gawin yung icon na yun. So doon ako nagkaroon ng connection kay Sir Gary. Na-feel ko na andyan din siya para sa akin. (It's like he doesn't just accept a project. If he ever chooses the song I'm going to do, that means there's something about the song that affects him. I remember I was imitating an icon, and he talked to me about how to do it. So that's where I had a connection with Sir Gary. I felt like he was there for me too)," he said.
Jarlo said that he's excited for the holidays because his parents are coming home from the US. "Uuwi po ang mom and dad ko from the US. Since ikakasal din ang pinsan ko sa January so excited ako na makasama ko uli ang family ko. (My mom and dad are coming home from the US. Since my cousin is also getting married in January, I'm excited to be with my family again.)"
(A lot has happened personally, and at work, so I hope to change myself so that I can handle myself. I noticed that I struggled. It was good, but I noticed that I struggled a bit internally. I hope I was given the skills to process myself and what's coming my way.)"
On what his fans could expect from him in 2026, Jarlo said, "More interesting segments pa sa Your Face Sounds Familiar. Grabe yung mga celebrities na gagayahin namin. Never ko inisip na magagawa ko sila. So abangan nila. More music pa next year and hopefully, may album na. Wala munang details, but I am working on new materials now. (More interesting segments on Your Face Sounds Familiar. The celebrities we'll be imitating are awesome. I never thought I could do them. So stay tuned. More music next year and hopefully, an album. No details yet, but I am working on new materials now.)"
Jarlo also expressed excitement about the future and has decided to pursue a music career.
"Masaya pala rito. So I decided to pursue a career in showbiz musically. Pero mukhang pwede naman sabay ang pag-arte at music. (It's fun here. So I decided to pursue a career in showbiz musically. But it seems that acting and music can go together)," he also said.
On his gift for himself, Jarlo revealed, "Lilipat ako sa bago kong unit kung saan meron na akong music studio. Taon din ang inabot nun kasi feeling ko walang nangyayari sa career ko. Dumating na ako sa point na pinag-iisipan ko na kung tutuloy pa ako hanggang nakapasok ako sa Star Magic. Result po talaga ito ng hard work. (I'm moving to my new unit where I already have a music studio. It took me years. I felt like nothing was happening in my career. I've reached the point where I'm wondering if I should continue until I get into Star Magic. This is really the result of hard work.)"
