SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan – Eleven individuals were injured after an amusement park ride at the town plaza here collapsed on Wednesday night, Dec. 24.
The Police Regional Office-1 said injured were a 37-year-old mechanic, a 19-year-old female, two female minors, and seven male minors.
Investigation said the amusement park ride suddenly broke in the middle while it was swinging.
Victims sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Manaoag, this province.
The operation of the ride was temporarily suspended. Police are conducting follow-up investigation and ensuring compliance with safety standards for amusement rides.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council continues to closely coordinate with concerned agencies to safeguard public safety and prevent similar incidents, especially during the holiday season.
The public was advised to remain vigilant and promptly report any safety concerns or incidents to authorities.
