Central Luzon police list allowed, banned holiday firecrackers
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police in Central Luzon issued a public advisory Wednesday detailing allowed and prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnics for a safe holiday season.
Police Regional Office-3 (Central Luzon) director, Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., said the sale, distribution, and use of illegal firecrackers are strictly prohibited, including selling permitted types outside designated zones.
Violators face confiscation of items, fines, and possible criminal charges, Peñones said in a statement.
Allowed firecrackers, if not oversized and sold in authorized zones, include Baby Rocket, Bawang, El Diablo, Judas Belt (small), Paper Caps, Kwitis, and small Triangulo. Permitted pyrotechnic devices include Fountain, Sparklers, Roman Candle, and Whistle Device.
Prohibited hazardous items include Piccolo, Watusi, Five Star, Pla-Pla, Giant Bawang, Goodbye Philippines, Boga, and all oversized or imported firecrackers.
PRO-3 urged the public to buy only from authorized vendors, refrain from using illegal items, and report violations to police or the 911 hotline. The campaign supports supervised community fireworks displays in designated areas. (PNA)
