CEBU CITY – Cebu Normal University (CNU) scored big in the 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) with 44 graduates making it to the Top 10.
Joined by their loved ones and friends, the 44 topnotchers, 15 from the elementary level and 29 from the secondary level, were recognized and awarded with cash incentives in a ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
“It is a great honor to have you here for the first time in 123 years, earning 44 Top 10. You make us very proud and happy,” said CNU President Dr. Daniel Ariaso Jr.
CNU recorded the highest passing rate of 97.57 percent in the secondary level and ranked fourth nationwide in the elementary level with a passing rate of 93.53 percent, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Cash incentives were given to the topnotchers with first placers getting P100,000 each; second and third placers receiving P70,000; fourth and fifth placers getting P50,000, and sixth to 10th placers taking home P30,000.
The elementary level Top 10 passers were:
1. Christel Zamora de Los Reyes – 94.40 percent
3. Marsha Mae Mantalba Tapic – 93.60 percent
4. Vinci Miguelle Narca Agua, Kyna Samantha Reyes Capuno, and Marjoe Mejias – 93.40 percent
5. Mary Frances Racines Veliganilao – 93.20 percent
7. Saint Mark Lloyd Benagles Cinco, Renashel Espinoza Condrillon, and Francelle Henriett Sonsona Pasay – 92.80 percent
9. Bench Yasmin Getaruelas Canencia and Erica Largo, 92.40 percent
10. Grace Lee Tuyogan Endrina, Jheane Tac-an Peñas, Jiolla Mariz Gutierrez Reuyan, and Rhea Cassandra Villaruel Tisoy – 92.20 percent
The Top 10 passers in the secondary level were:
1. Jed Vincent Requilme Abadia – 94.80 percent
2. James Brian Pantilgan Banag – 94.60 percent
3. Christine Ese Salmero Perez – 94.40 percent
7. Jechrister Jireh Melgo Echavez, Janine Petalcorin Gonzaga, Genebie Laranjo, Princess Rhina Garnace Pahayahay, Ellen Rose Goc-ong Sodoso, and Ela Lois Bendanillo Tuhoy – 93.60 percent
8. Ferree Anne Lesondra Alvios, Jesyl Aloba Cabahug, and Maria Victoria Vargas – 93.40 percent
9. Angele Alcantara Calipondan, Danika Maria Louise Bonggot Minoza, Jerald Catamco Panugaling, Jake Arcenal Pradilla, Rocky Otugay Santander, and Clara Mae Monceda Tangpos – 93.20 percent
10. Lera Jane Catayas Camangyan, Rheisa Jakosalem Camiguel, Jamaica Rascen Gallardo Claro, Frederick Barasan Fernandez, Billy Joe Abanes Maurillo, Jann Denzelle Blanco Nudalo, Krizcia May Simbajon Ombos, Jhana Mae Abanid Orenda, May Bern Richelle Aumentado Saldo, Joselle Mark Tonion Serna, and Jasmin Baguio Tenebroso – 93 percent
“You make us very proud and happy because out of 122,528 takers nationwide, the Top 1 is from Cebu Normal University. Not just one but two,” Ariaso said.
