BATANGAS CITY – Police have inspected stores selling firecrackers and fireworks in Batangas province.
Police Col. Geovanny Emerick Sibalo, Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) director, said the inspection was in compliance with Republic Act No. 7183 that regulates the sale, manufacture, and use of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.
Sibalo reminded businessmen not to sell illegal, prohibited, or oversized firecrackers and strictly observe all safety precautions, including proper storage, handling, and use of pyrotechnics, to prevent fire hazards and other untoward incidents.
“We urge everyone to observe government-designated fireworks zones and community display areas and refrain from using banned or unsafe pyrotechnics,” Sibalo said.
Police vowed close coordination with local government units and industry stakeholders to ensure a safe, orderly, and incident-free Christmas and New Year.
