SPD Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo said 2,006 police personnel, supported by 514 auxiliary units and 6,095 force multipliers, were deployed in priority locations, including police stations and fixed visibility points, places of worship, major thoroughfares, transport hubs and terminals, commercial centers, tourist destinations, and areas with scheduled community fireworks displays.
Arceo said the largest number of deployed personnel was assigned to police stations and fixed visibility points, with 1,482 officers on duty.
This was followed by 825 personnel deployed in commercial areas and 386 officers assigned to places of worship. Transport hubs and major roads will also be closely monitored, particularly as travel volume increases ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He added that to further strengthen security coverage, force multipliers and augmentation personnel from barangay security groups, volunteer organizations, and accredited stakeholders were also deployed across the district.
The SPD chief noted that more than 6,000 force multipliers are expected to reinforce police operations, especially in densely populated commercial centers and busy transport hubs.
Arceo emphasized that visibility patrols, public assistance desks, and joint operations will be conducted round-the-clock to deter criminal elements and ensure swift response to public concerns.
He urged the public, particularly travelers, churchgoers, shoppers, and holiday revelers, to cooperate with the authorities and to remain vigilant at all times.
The SPD chief assured the public of a safe, peaceful, and orderly celebration of the holiday season as the country observes traditional gatherings, religious activities, and New Year festivities.
For emergencies and immediate concerns, citizens are encouraged to proceed to the nearest police station or contact the national emergency hotline 911.
