Widower hacked to death by son

LOPEZ, Quezon – A widower was allegedly hacked to death by his 37-year-old son on Monday night, Dec. 22, in Barangay Mandoog here.
Police identified the victim as Alfredo Sr., 69.
Investigation said an altercation erupted between the victim and the suspect, Alfredo Jr., who was armed with bolo.
The suspect chased and hacked his father in the body. Alfredo Sr. died on the spot.
Jhea, Alfredo Jr.’s live-in partner, tried to pacify him but she too was hacked. She was taken a hospital for a wound in the right arm.
Police arrested the suspect and recovered the murder weapon.
A misunderstanding between the victim and the suspect was the motive in the killing.
The suspect faces appropriate charges.
