Around P1,360,000 worth of illegal drugs and a gun were confiscated from two high-value individuals (HVIs) during a buy-bust operation in Cainta, Rizal.
The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said the operation was conducted by personnel of the Cainta Municipal Police Station-Station Drug Enforcement Team in Barangay Sto. Domingo on Sunday night, Dec. 21.
The operation resulted in the arrest of “Burnok,” 32, and “Tres,” 22. Authorities said both were allegedly involved in the illegal sale of drugs in the area.
Confiscated from the suspects were nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 200 grams, a .22-caliber revolver, four rounds of ammunition, and cash.
The suspects are now under the custody of the Cainta Custodial Facility and will face charges for violations of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Alias “Burnok” will also face an additional charge for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Rizal PPO Director Col. Feloteo A. Gonzalgo vowed that they would continue to conduct operations to arrest all individuals involved in illegal drugs in the province and ensure the safety of the community.
“Ang Rizal PPO ay patuloy na nagsasagawa ng mga operasyon upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mamamayan laban sa banta ng ilegal na droga (The Rizal Provincial Police Office continues to conduct operations to ensure the safety of the community against the threat of illegal drugs),” he said.
“Ang pagkakaaresto sa mga high-value individuals ay malinaw na indikasyon ng mas pinaigting naming kampanya. Ang bawat matagumpay na operasyon ay resulta ng masusing intelligence work at kooperasyon ng iba’t ibang yunit (The arrest of these high-value individuals is a clear indication of our intensified campaign. Each successful operation is the result of thorough intelligence work and the cooperation of various units),” he added.
