Taguig opens TLC Playpark by Laguna Lake
The TLC Playground, a 3,000-square-meter recreational space for children situated along the edge of Laguna Lake in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig, is now open to the public.
The Taguig City government inaugurated the park on Dec. 20. It was designed as a free public space where families can gather, children can learn through play, and the community can spend quality together.
Designed for children ages three to 12, the TLC Playpark has play equipment paired with cultural storytelling elements, giving children opportunities for active play while learning about Taguig’s Probinsyudad identity.
The opening also introduced the seven BaTaguig mascots that were unveiled as friendly and relatable characters that reflect the values instilled in every Batang Taguigeño.
The mascots—Eli Madasalin, Luli Mapagmahal, Aya Masayahin, Miggy Magalang, Mika Malikhaín, Juan Masipag, and Kali Makalikasan—were presented as symbols of the city’s commitment to nurturing character, creativity, and positive values among children.
In her message, Mayor Lani Cayetano shared the heart behind the project, describing the playpark as a space created especially for the city’s young residents:
“Isa na namang proyektong pangbayan ang ating hatid sa mga kababayan nating Taguigeño, lalo na sa ating kabataan. Today we dedicate to the Lord the Taguig Playpark — ang magiging tahanan ng mga kabataan at aktibong lugar na kung saan makakapagsaya, makakapag-ehersisyo. Magkakaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga kabataan na may makilala at magkaroon ng bagong kaibigan (We are bringing another public project to our fellow Taguigeños, especially our youth. Today we dedicate to the Lord the Taguig Playpark — the home of the youth and an active place where they can have fun, exercise. The youth will have the opportunity to meet people and make new friends),” said Mayor Lani Cayetano.
She added, “Ito pong Playpark sana ay maging kasiyahan, hindi lamang ng mga kabataan kundi pati mga magulang. Alam ko po na sa isang magulang, wala pong kapantay ang ligaya kapag nakikita ninyo ang inyong mga anak na masaya at masigla (I hope this Playpark will be a source of joy, not only for the youth but also for the parents. I know that for a parent, there is no greater joy than seeing your children happy and energetic).”
The TLC Playpark has the Giant Slide, Pirate Ship, Eagle Climber, Play Mantis, Fish Bone Play Equipment, Web Climber, Giraffe Play Equipment, Swing Tree and Sunflower Swing, Bird and Lovers Seesaws, musical play areas with drum set and xylophone, and Animal Riders, supported by park amenities.
Merchants sell food and refreshments for families spending time at the park.
To keep the TLC Playpark safe and enjoyable, entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, with the playpark open from Tuesday to Sunday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and closed on Mondays for maintenance.
The city government said it can accommodate up to 100 children per time slot, with each child required to be accompanied and actively supervised by one adult guardian at all times.
Play sessions are scheduled hourly and limited to one hour per child, allowing more families to enjoy the facility.
Sharp or pointed objects and other potentially harmful items are not allowed inside the playpark.
Food and drinks are not permitted inside the play area, but designated snack areas and on-site merchants are available.
