Girl, 5, raped, killed in Batangas

SANTO TOMAS CITY, Batangas – A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in this city on Friday, Dec. 19.
Police identified the victim as Nene.
Investigation said the victim’s body was discovered by a resident stuffed in a sack on the side of a road in Barangay Santa Maria.
The victim was last seen alive on Friday while Christmas caroling. She failed to return home and her family asked help from the barangay to locate her.
Police conducted a follow-up operation and closed-circuit television footage showed the victim entering the house of two men – Leo and Jay.
Leo was later on seen coming out of the house carrying a white sack, prompting police to take him in for questioning.
The suspect confessed that he and Jay raped and killed the victim while under the influence of illegal drugs. Seized from Leo was six plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing. Suspects face appropriate cases.
Police reminded parents not to let children go caroling by themselves. 
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old businessman drowned on Taal Lake, Barangay Leviste, Taal, Batangas, over the weekend.
Police identified the victim as Tisoy.
Tisoy went missing on Dec. 19, prompting a friend, Adonis Mayuga, to look for him, on Taal Lake.
Mayuga discovered the body of the victim floating on Taal Lake on Sunday.
The victim’s body was retrieved and taken to a funeral parlor.
