Stars attend wedding of Kim Woo-bin, Shin Min-a in Seoul
Stars attended the wedding of Korean celebrity couple Kim Woo-Bin, 36, and Shin Min-a on Dec. 20.
The wedding ceremony was held at about 7 p.m. KST at the Dynasty Hall of the Shilla Hotel in Seoul.
Venerable Pomnyun, Buddhist monk, officiated the wedding while the congratulatory song was performed by Korean singer Car, the Garden.
Kim Woo-bin reportedly overcame his difficult time battling nasopharyngeal cancer through Pomnyun’s words.
Actor Lee Kwang-soo, formerly of the TV show “Running Man,’ served as the emcee of the ceremony, Korean media reported.
The ceremony was held privately, with only family, relatives, and close friends invited. But as the venue was revealed, a huge crowd gathered in front of the hotel.
EXO’s D.O. was originally scheduled to sing the congratulatory song but the date was in conflict with EXO’s performance at the Melon Music Awards held on Dec. 20.
D.O. made a surprise appearance at the wedding. He stopped by and left, the report added. D.O., Kim Woo-bin and Lee Kwang-soo are the stars of the show “GBRB: Joy Pops Laugh Pops.”
Among the stars who attended the wedding were BTS’ V, Kim Tae-ri, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Hyo-jin, Uhm Jung-hwa, Bae Jung-nam, Kim Eui-sung, Nam Joo-hyuk, Ahn Bo-hyun, Park Kyung-rim, and Go Doo-shim. Drama writers Kim Eun-sook and Noh Hee-kyung were also there.
AM Entertainment, the agency of Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a, announced that they donated 300 million won (about $203,285) to various organizations, including the Hallym Burn Foundation, Seoul Asan Medical Center, and Good Friends, at the end of this year.
The agency revealed a pre-wedding photo of the two on Dec. 20.
Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a announced last November their plan to get married after being together for 10 years.
“Actress Shin Min-a and actor Kim Woo-bin have promised to be each other's companions, based on the deep trust they have built through their long relationship. Their wedding will be held privately on December 20 at a location in Seoul, with only their families, relatives, and close friends in attendance,” their agency said.
In July 2015, Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a admitted their relationship after their date photos were published by a Korean media outlet.
In 2017, Kim Woo-bin stopped his activities after being diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. He resumed his career in 2019 and transferred to Shin Min-a’s agency, AM Entertainment, in 2020.
