Jennie, G-Dragon win grand prizes at 2025 Melon Music Awards
BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Big Bang’ s G-Dragon took home the grand prizes (daesang) at the 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA) held on Dec. 20 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
G-Dragon won a total of seven awards, including three grand prizes. He won the grand prizes for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for “Übermensch” and Song of the Year for "Home Sweet Home" (featuring Taeyang and Daesung).
In addition, he won Best Male Solo, Top 10 Artist, Best Songwriter and Millions Top 10. The Millions Top 10 is an award for an album that achieved over one million streams within 24 hours of release and entered Melon's Hall of Fame.
"The road to receiving the award is long and arduous. But because it is meaningful, it is not difficult at all and I am very happy. Every year is special and precious, but I think this year will be remembered for a long time as the most meaningful year for me personally," said G-Dragon.
Jennie won the grand prize for Record of the Year. She also won Top 10 Artist and Millions Top 10.
She said, "I'm so grateful for this prestigious award. This year has been a meaningful one, as I've also released my first solo album. I'm happy to be able to end the year on a high note.”
The Top 10 Artist award went to G-Dragon, Rosé, Lim Young-woong, Jennie, espa, Boynextdoor, IVE, NCT Wish, Place and RIIZE.
The winners of the Millions Top 10 are Rosé's “Rosie,” Seventeen's “Happy Burstday,” IU's AA Flower Bookmark 3,” Lim Young-woong's “I'm Hero 2,” Jennie's “Ruby,” Boynextdoor's “No Genre,” G-Dragon's “Übermensch,” IVE’s “'Ive Empathy,”, Plave's “Caligo Part 1,” and RIIZE’s “Odyssey.”
