CAMP FLORENDO, San Fernando City, La Union – Six people were injured in an accident on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Barangay San Blas, Villasis, Pangasinan on Saturday, Dec. 20.
Police said the incident occurred at around 3:12 a.m.
A 61-year-old engineer reportedly lost control of the steering wheel of a white Toyota Fortuner after the SUV hit a fuel dispenser left on the expressway.
The car rammed a steel gutter, injuring the driver and five passengers – a 60-year-old retired teacher; a 29-year-old accountant; a 25-year-old student; a 30-year-old private employee; and a 21-year-old female.
The Villasis Police Station responded to the incident at around 5:35 a.m. after receiving a report from the Urdaneta City Police Station.
The victims are recuperating at the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) here.
The heavily damaged SUV was taken to the Villasis Police Station for proper disposition.
Police advised people to be extra careful on the road to avoid accidents this holiday season.
