The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Saturday, December 20, that it has begun releasing year-end incentives for approximately one million employees nationwide, following the directive of President Marcos. The release covers teachers, non-teaching personnel, and contract-based workers.
In a statement, DepEd said the incentive package includes the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI), Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI), and Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) incentive for eligible personnel, as well as gratuity pay for Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers.
Breakdown of DepEd year-end incentives
Under the incentive program, teachers and non-teaching personnel will receive P20,000 in SRI and P5,000 in PEI, while eligible non-teaching staff are set to receive an additional P10,000 in CNA incentives.
Meanwhile, COS and JO workers will receive gratuity pay ranging from P4,000 to P7,000, depending on the length of service rendered during the year.
DepEd said the release of the incentives is guided by official issuances from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to ensure compliance with budget management policies.
Partial SRI release begins in December
DepEd clarified that the SRI will be paid in tranches, starting with an initial release this December.
The first tranche will amount to at least P10,000 and up to P14,500 per eligible employee, with the remaining balance to be released after the approval of the request for modification of allotments.
Eligible SRI recipients include DepEd personnel with regular, contractual, and co-terminus appointments across the central, regional, division, and school offices.
PEI, CNA incentives, gratuity pay scheduled
Separately, DepEd will release the P5,000 PEI to eligible personnel as mandated under Executive Order No. 201, which aims to boost productivity in government service and is granted on top of other bonuses and incentives.
The P10,000 CNA incentive for qualified non-teaching personnel will be set aside within the year, with actual release scheduled for January 2026, DepEd said.
For COS and JO workers, gratuity pay will be processed by the Central Office and regional offices under their respective arrangements.
DepEd recognizes teachers, staff
Meanwhile, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara expressed gratitude to DepEd personnel for keeping the public education system running.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga guro at kawani ng DepEd na patuloy na nagpapatakbo ng ating sistema ng edukasyon (We thank the teachers and staff of DepEd who continue to keep our education system running),” Angara said.
“Kayo ang dahilan kung bakit malaki ang budget ng edukasyon, at tungkulin naming tiyakin na ito ay nagreresulta sa benepisyo at serbisyong karapat-dapat sa inyo (You are the reason why the education budget is substantial, and it is our duty to ensure that it results in benefits and services that you rightfully deserve),” he added.
Angara noted that the incentives form part of DepEd’s continuing efforts to recognize the contributions of teachers and staff, while ensuring that releases remain within approved budget limits and government fiscal policies.
