DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office received on Friday, Dec. 19, 35 mobility assets and 600 raincoats from the city government of Davao and Goldenville Development and Resources Corp.
Acting DCPO director Police Col. Mannan Muarip received seven 4x4 four-door pickup patrol vehicles, 25 4x2 two-door pickup patrol vehicles, and three Toyota Commuter response vans worth a total of P77 million.
Muarip emphasized that these mobility assets will significantly enhance their capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to the community’s needs.
“I remind all units to take good care of the vehicles and use them responsibly. By doing so, we can make the most of these assets to improve police presence, mobility, and the safety of the people of Davao City,” Muarip said.
Lawyer Jonah Margarette F. Presto, deputy chief of staff of the City Mayor’s Office, delivered a message from acting Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte.
Duterte highlighted the city government’s commitment to strengthen the police.
He said such support for the Davao City police reflects the city’s dedication to empowering them with the tools they need to protect and serve, respond promptly to emergencies, and maintain peace and order in the city.
“By strengthening the capability of DCPO, we are also enhancing the safety and confidence of our citizens. The city government will continue to stand behind our law enforcers in their mission to maintain peace and order,” Duterte said.
Muarip thanked Duterte and the city government and assured the public that they would effectively utilize these new resources. “Rest assured that the DCPO will maximize these assets to strengthen police visibility, improve mobility, and ensure the safety and security of our people.”
