ILOILO CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority has issued a national ID to a 110-year-old woman from Iloilo province and she may be the oldest in the country to have received the card.
Jovita Aranga from San Rafael town in northern Iloilo successfully registered for a national ID during the PSA’s house-to-house registration recently.
“Having lived through generations marked by typewritten records and handwritten identification, Aranga’s registration symbolizes the transition to a secure, digital, and unified national ID system,” the PSA-Iloilo said.
Aranga’s information was easily recorded with the assistance of PSA-Iloilo personnel.
“Her demographic and biometric information is now securely recorded alongside millions of Filipinos nationwide,” the PSA-Iloilo said.
Aranga was among the 6,597 senior citizens in Iloilo who were registered from Oct. 1 to Dec. 14.
Aside from senior citizens, PSA-Iloilo also served Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
